The Who Knows, built in 1930 and once home to Stirling Haden comprises of:
A light, spacious forward double cabin with ensuite shower room, opening port hole, skylight, reading lights, ample storage.
Two rear cabins, each with ensuite bathroom; opening port holes and fans; ample storage, reading lights.
Separating the forward and rear cabins are two cabins, one with laundry facilities available to guests, the other being made available if required, for one person.
The upper saloon is a cosy area in which to drink that pre-dinner apperatif. Descend the solid wooden steps to the lower saloon which provides an area to dine, take coffee or tea, or simply to relax in the leather seating while you listen to music on the CD system, or browse a book from the good library: guide books, culinary books and general interest books are all available.
You will certainly want to be on deck as you cruise: sit near the captain on the bench seating to admire the art of piloting a large boat, or enjoy the forward deck as you sit under the parasol. Tables and chairs provide an excellent arena for outside dining while enjoying the country views. A barbeque is available too for those wishing to sample local fare in this traditional manner.
Full central heating; constant hot and cold water and full 220v system aboard enable this boat to offer cruises at any time of the year.
The Who Knows offers flexibility, good service, a friendly atmosphere yet with an attention to detail such as flowers and fresh fruit in each cabin, that you will surely appreciate, and all at an unbeatable price.

ITINERARY
Sunday: Dijon - Pont de Pany
16H00 : After being met by your captain at the TGV station at Dijon, or a Dijon hotel of your choice, your break begins with a private minibus transfer to the Who Knows, moored on the Burgundy canal at Pont de Pany. Enjoy a welcome drink with Jason and Dawn, your hosts for the week, before settling into your cabin before dinner on board.
Monday: Pont de Pany - Gissey sur Ouche
After a good night's rest and a continentale breakfast,we set sail for Gissey sur Ouche cruising through the dramatic Ouche Valley and mooring up in one of the prettiest villages along the canal. After lunch we head over the hills to visit the Cistercian abbey of Clos de Vougeot with its impressive 15th century wine presses. Next stop, Gevrey Chambertin known locally as the king of Burgundy wines and with 9 'grand cru' estates. We will do a wine tasting before rejoining the barge. Tonight we dine in La Ferme Auberge du Rolle, a beautiful farm house that specialises in cooking on an open fire.
Tuesday: Gissey sur Ouche- Pont d'Ouche
Today we begin our day by cruising up stream toward Pont d'Ouche. Today is all about cruising! Either sit back and watch the world drift by, or walk or cycle along the Who Knows as she continues her sedate journet. The Ouche valley is noted for its steep sided, tree-lined dense deciduous forest: Wild boar, deer and birds of prey abound. After a day of breathing in this beautiful valley, enjoy dinner on deck.
Wednesday: Pont d'Ouche
No visit to Burgundy is complete without a trip to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. Visiting the world famous 'Hotel Dieu', also known as 'Les Hospices de Beaune', step back to the 1440's when the building was built by Nicolas Rolin. You will surely enjoy the museum that the Hospice now houses, with it's authentic hospital ward, pharmacy and kitchens. Jason will make a suggestion for lunch: There are plenty of charming terraced cafés and restaurants to choose from. After lunch we will visit Patriarche Pere et Fils, the largest wine cellar in Burgundy, with more than 4 million bottles of wine. Enjoy a private wine tasting in their cave reserved for select customers. It is possible to have wine shipped back to your door step if you really can't choose just or two bottles! Dinner on board.
Thursday: Pont d'Ouche - Vandensse en Auxois
Breakfast followed by a morning cruise through the flight of locks to our next destination, Vandenesse en Auxois. The barge moors in the shadows of Chateauneuf en Auxois, a medieval village on a hill overlooking the canal. Relish this setting while we cruise up the valley before Jason takes you to lunch in a local cafe to at among the locals. Thsi afternoon we visit Chateauneuf which offers spectacular views of the region. This 15th century chateau was home to Phillip Pot, on eof the Dukes of Burgundy. If you are feeling energetic, you may like to walk back to the barge to build up an apperite for this evening's dinner in the restuarant Les Auxois, just 2 minutes walk from our mooring.
Friday: Vandenesse en Auxois - Pouilly
Today we climb the last short flight of locks to Escommes, the summit pound of the Burgundy canal. Jason prepares the barge in the last lock for the trip through the Pouilly tunnel, built by prisoners during the Napoleonic wars. The Who Knows is one of the very few vessels of her size that can pass through the tunnel afer lunch, a truly wonderful experience and a perfect way to end your cruise.
Jason and Dawn invite you to dinner this evening, in a carefully chosen local restaurant for a truly gastronic finale.
Saturday
After breakfast, and farewells at 9.30am, we will escort you safely back to Dijon TGV station for your return to Paris or onward journey.
