Sunday: Arrival at Fleurey-sur-Ouche
Chauffeured transfers from Paris- Of course!
To begin your journey in style, one of the Rendez-Vous crew will meet your party in Paris or Geneva at 2.00 pm, (or Dijon at 5.00 pm) and escort you by private minibus to the barge, moored in the quaint village of Fleurey-sur-Ouche on the beautiful Canal de Bourgogne.
ETA is 5 pm -6 pm.
Our traditional champagne reception awaits you... meet the crew, unpack and relax, perhaps taking a gentle walk as the sun sets, before your first gourmet dinner on board.

Monday: Fleurey-sur-Ouche to Gissey-sur-Ouche
Where Monks made wine!
This morning we will cruise from La Bussiere-sur-Ouche to Pont d'Ouche: Explore the towpath or simply relax and wonder at the beauty, flora and fauna in view.
After lunch on board, we will visit the Clos de Vougeot where Cistercian monks made wine in the 12th century, to view the preserved presses from which early Burgundian wines were first produced. The ancient Clos is now the headquarters of the Chevaliers du Tastevin, awarding special labels to the finest Cote d'Or vintages. We'll then enjoy a private tasting in a local cellar before returning to Rendez-Vous where the Chef will present another fine dinner onboard.

Tuesday: Gissey-sur-Ouche to La Bussiere-sur-Ouche
Dijon, the capital of the Dukes of Burgundy
Monday is market day in nearby Dijon, and not to be missed!  The ancient "Les Halles" was designed by Gustave Eiffel, and still house market stalls brimming with local produce three times a week. From mustard to wine, to fruit and vegetables and flowers, a riot of colour and fragrances fill the air offering a pleasurable assault of the senses.  Outside the market place, there is an array of beautiful boutiques, public gardens, ancient buildings and of course, bistros, all brimming with authentic French life.  Enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the ancient capital of the Dukes of Burgundy, before we return to Rendez-Vous for our lunch and afternoon cruise to Vandenesse-en-Auxois.
After an early evening stroll, it's time for our final feast at the Captain's Dinner.
Return to Rendez-Vous for evening dinner.

Wednesday: La Bussiere-sur-Ouche  to Pont d'Ouche
A magical castle above the Burgundy canal
Take your time to relax this morning while once again enjoying the beautiful scenery.
After lunch on board, we will visit one of the most beautiful villages in France, Chateauneuf-en-Auxois.  Your Tour Guide escorts you and will explain the history of its 15th-century fortress perched high above the valley. Discover the remarkable contrast between deprivations and decadence of France's history through the architecture and timeworn relics of the castle.  In the village, you can visit local craft shops, artists studios and tea-rooms or simply admire the incredible views.  You can take a great panoramic photoshoot from the designated viewpoint.
We then return to Rendez-Vous where you can enjoy a quiet stroll or bicycle ride or simply relax while awaiting tonight's dinner.

Thursday:  Pont dOuche to Vandenesse-en-Auxois
Burgundy delicacies and history in Beaune
We begin the day with a gentle cruise, during which you can join your Captain in the wheelhouse, the chef in the galley, or relax on deck.
After lunch, we head to Beaune for the first of two enthralling visits in the factory Fallot, the last independent mill in Burgundy,  to discover the gentle art of mustard making.
Our second visit takes us to the world-famous immaculately preserved Hospice, the Hotel Dieu, a hospital dating back to Medieval times which was still in use during the 20th century.
The main hall, chapel and pharmacy are particularly fascinating.
In the inner courtyard, you can admire the beautiful roof tiles, an emblem of Burgundy.
We'll return to the Rendez-Vous for aperitifs and appetizers followed by dinner on board in the stunning mooring at Pont d'Ouche.

Friday: Vandenesse-en-Auxois to Escommes
The best wine tastings!
What better way to end our week than a final morning cruise in the beautiful countryside, followed by an afternoon in the prestigious vineyards of the Chateau de Chassagne Montrachet for a private wine tasting of their boutique wines.  The cellars date back to the XI and XV centuries.  The Picard family, owners since 1951, welcome us to the cellars for a fabulous tasting.
Return to Rendez-Vous for cocktails and canapes, ahead of the Captain's Dinner.

Saturday: Return to Paris
