About the barge "La Bella Vita"

La Bella Vita is a stylish twenty-passenger vessel completely refitted in 2010 to high standards to offer comfortable, fully air-conditioned accommodation.

She has two upper-deck suites and eight lower-deck staterooms, all offering enquite facilities, and a bright, spacious dining room and bar area where delicious Italian specialities will be served.
Louvred doors open to the side decks to give a perfect viewing platform, whilst above is a huge sundeck with comfortable loungers from which to enjoy the wonders of the region.
For those wishing to be slightly more active, 10 touring bikes are available.

La Bella Vita is the perfect vessel from which to immerse yourself in Italian Renaissance culture as you cruise the Venetian lagoon and the calm waters of the Po Valley en route to the elegant city of Mantua.

Cruise along the Venetian lagoon and the Po Valley

Guests are met at a designated hotel in Venice on Sunday afternoon and transferred by air-conditioned coach to La Bella Vita for a Prosecco welcome.
A late afternoon cruise takes us along the Giudeccan Canal past some of Venice's most famous monuments: the Chiesa des Rednetorre, the impressive Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute and the Punta della Dogana.
Dinner aboard, followed perhaps by an evening stroll to St Mark's Square.

Venice - Pellestrina/San Pietro in Volta
Guided tour to the center of Venice.
We visit the gardens of the Biennale Exhibition of Modern Arts, Pilladios Church of San Pietro in Castello, the Naval museum with a model of the Bucintoro (Doge's Boat) and the Pavillon of Gondolas housing Peggy Guggenhiem's own vessel.
Late afternoon cruise to Pellestrina separating the Venetian Lagoon from the Adriatic Sea, along the Canal of Orphans passing lagoon islands with their brightly coloured houses, painted fishing boats and tiny churches.
We moor in San Pietro in Volta for a Venetian aperitif in a typical local 'bacaro'.

Pellestrina - Chioggia - Adria
After a stroll or cycle along the 18th century Istrian Sea wall, we cruise past wild dunes and pine woods teeming with wildlife.
Entering Chioggia, city of Goldoni's plaus, we visit the Piazzetta Vigo, Vigo Bridge and 12th century Vigo Column.
At the Chiesa di San Domenico, we see Carpaccio's St Paul, his last recorded painting and works by Tintoretto and Bassano.
Then Chioggia's cathedral beckons with works, among others, Tiepolo.
We visit the colourful fish market and make a short Adriatic cruise before enjoying the nature reserve, Po River delta and Bianco canal to Adria.

Adria - Bussari
Our day opens with a short walk to Adria's original lagoon pumping Museum and morning aperitif.
Afternoon cruise to Bussari and visit to the gardens and wine cellars of the 17th century Villa Widmann- Borletti.

Bussari - Canda/Trevenzuolo
Morning cruise to Canda, with guided tour of Ferrara's 14th century Estence Castle and Renaissance surroundings.
This ancient ducal fortress with moat, drawbridges and unusual battlements, houses marble balconies and sumptuous appartments.
We see the Cathedral facade with it's sculptured images, described as an Illustrated Bible.
Ferarra has a rich cultural heritage, with renowned artists, writers, musicians and scientists all leaving their mark.
Lunch ashore and time to wander Ferraro's Renaissance inspired setting, before our cruise to Trevenzuolo, to the accompaniment of live piano music.

Trevelenzuolo - Mantua
Our final cruise has a dramatic approach to Mantua, home of the poet Virgil, artists Mantegna and Donatello, and captivating lakeside setting.
Mantua displays extraordinary neo-classical and Baroque architecture, portrayed in the 14th century Ducal Palace housing some 15 gardens and courtyards, a museum, basilica and theatre.
The intricate frescoes, Galley of Mirrors and exquisite Rivers Room, and 12000 paintings and sculptures all create a Grand Finale to our Italian Renaissance adventure.

After breakfast, passengers disembark for transfers back to Venice.
