ITINERARY
Paris to Auxerre
Sunday You will be collected from Paris at 1.30 pm and transferred to La Belle Époque for a Champagne Welcome. Explore Medieval Auxerre including the magnificent cathedral before returning for your first dinner aboard.
Auxerre to Vincelles
Monday Visit to the underground medieval passages of St Bris coupled with a wine tasting in a 12th century cellar – Chardonnay and Pinot Noir . The afternoon cruise takes you through rural vineyard-clad hillsides.
Vincelles to Vermonton
Tuesday Morning excursion to Auxerre to discover the Medieval town centre: fine churches, half-timbered housing and great shopping! Afternoon cruise to Vermenton. Dinner ashore in a local 'Auberge'.
Vermenton to Mailly-le-Chateau
Wednesday The morning cruise passes the impressive steep cliffs of the Yonne valley on the approach to the traditional market town of Mailly. Afternoon excursion to Vézelay, with it's Roman Basilica of St Mary Magdalene. One of Burgundy's most famous treasures.
Mailly-le-Chateau to Chatel Censoir
Thurday Wonder at the Saussois cliffs, home to an international climbing centre as you cruise sedately by, before mooring for lunch with a picture -perfect view. Enjoy the excursion to the 18th century Ferme de Miserey where traditional farming techniqies are explained. Foie gras tasting with a noble Chablis.
Chatel Censoir to Clamecy
Friday Morning cruise through beautiful countryside towards Clamecy where time is available to wander the ancient narrow streets. Afternoon visit to the Chateau of Bazoches, home of Marechal Vauban who once entertained Richard the Lionheart here. Captain’s farewell dinner aboard.
Clamecy to Paris
Saturday Disembark for the return to Paris after breakfast.
