The country house atmosphere of the Scottish Highlander, built in 2000, is such that all who cruise aboard her feel instantly at one with the surrounding splendour of the highlands from which she takes her name. The subtle tartan furnishings and landscape paintings reflect the colours and scenery of your cruise to come. Offering fully air-conditioned luxury accommodation in six spacious and very comfortable double/twin suites with ensuite marbel fitted bathrooms . Each day the chef will prepare you a range of wonderful regional cuisine including game and, naturally, the freshest of fish! You may choose to relax with a spot of cycling, or fishing( the Scottish Highlander has radar and fish finder), or simply by watching the stunning landscape drift by.

Inverness to Dochgarroch
Sunday
Guests are met at 4.00 pm and transferred to Scottish Highlander in Dochgarroch. Champagne Welcome and short cruise along the hearther lined canal. Dinner aboard.

Dochgarroch to Drumnadrochit
Monday
Shakespeare lovers will be thrilled by this mornings visit to Cawdor castle, home of Macbeth: a marvellous collection of art, tapestries and fine furniture plus landscaped gardens. Afternoon cruise across Loch Ness to 13th century Urquhart Castle and Bay.

Drumnadrochit to Fort Augustus
Tuesday
Morning visit to Fort George dating from 1769 for a glimpse of military life of the period. Return via Moniack Winery and Jelly shop. Lunch cruise on Loch Ness. Evening mooring by 14th century Fort Augusus Abbey at River Oich pier. Dinner ashore at local hostelry.

Fort Augustus to Invergarry
Wednesday
Explore Fort Augustus’ Caledonian Heritage Centre and marvel at an original ‘30’s film of the Gondolier, a passenger paddle steamer. Cruse on Loch Oich to Inveraggry castle ruins. Afternoon drive through stunning highland countryside. At Glen Garry sip a “wee dram” to end the days excursions.

Invergarry to Gairlochy
Thursday
A peaceful cruise along the canal avenue and across Loch Lochy to the pretty hamlet of Gairlochy. Afternoon ascent of Anoch Mor by cabel car for truly spectacular views; visit the wool mill at Spean Bridge close to the WWII Commando memorial.

Gairlochy to Banavie
Friday
An informative morning visit to “Legend of the Dew of Ben Nevis” whisky distillery gives an insight to this craft, followed by a tasting. Visit the West Highland Heritage Museum in Fort William to learn more about this fascinating country and it’s past. Good shopping opportunites here. Afternoon cruise to Banavie and Neptune’s staircase of locks. Farewell Dinner aboard.
