Clair de Lune cruise routes & itineraries

Beziers to Homps on the Canal du Midi

Guests are met at either Beziers or Narbonne and transferred by private chauffeured minibus to Clair de Lune.
The crew welcomes you on board with a glass of chilled Champagne and canapes, before we take a short cruise before your first dinner on board.

Colombiers to Capestang
We begin the day cruising along the Canal.  Enjoy the views from the sundeck or cycle or walk alongside Clair de Lune.
After lunch, a private wine-tasting awaits followed by a visit to the Oppidum d'Enserne.  This hilltop archeological site located close to our mooring, is 2000 years old!
Dinner on board.

Capestang to La Croisade
After a leisurely breakfast, we cruise to La Croisade arriving in time for lunch on board.  Our excursion this afternoon takes us to Pezenas, a truly delightful village where the great French playwright Moliere is said to have written many of his plays.   Dinner on board

La Croisade to Le Somail
After breakfast, we drive you to the beautiful city of Narbonne, a Roman Mediterranean capital where the Visigoth monarchs once lived.
Enjoy the Archbishops Palace and Horreum, and explore the indoor market, Les Halles, at the hub of this bustling town, where you will have time to shop or simply absorb the relaxed atmosphere.
Then we enjoy lunch in a typical French restaurant close to Les Halles.
In the afternoon, a relaxing cruise takes us to Le Somail, a small fishing port.
Dinner on board.

Le Somail  to Argens-Minervois
Enjoy the views this morning as we cruise to Argens Minervois.  After lunch on board, we visit Minerve with it's 12 century Cathar fort surrounded by deep limestone gorges. Cameras at the ready for the spectacular views!
The Cathar history is a bloody one; the siege by Simon de Montford in 1210 and the Cathar rebellion is recreated in miniature and a small museum completes this intriguing visit.
On our return toward Clair de Lune, we'll enjoy a second private wine-tasting at Domaine Massamier La Mignarde, producers of fine Minervois wines.
This evening, we will dine in a local restaurant.

Argens Minervois to Homps
This morning we cruise to our final destination Homps, which was once a major commercial harbour.
After lunch on board, your guide will accompany you to the most complete Medieval fortified city in existence today, dating back to the Roman Gallo era, Carcassonne.
With 52 watchtowers, portcullis and extraordinary repertoire of defences, it resisted many armies that tried to storm the Camelot setting.
You can walk the ramparts, visit the Chateau, and step back in time.
Captains Farewell Dinner on board.

After breakfast, guests are transferred by private, chauffeured minibus to their choice of location in Narbonne.
This is a sample itinerary and is subject to change.  On alternate weeks the cruise is in the reverse direction.
