“A” comme Auxerre

Welcome to the first of our “spotlights”.
Each month we’ll visit a town or village of particular interest.

Discovering Auxerre

Auxerre is one of our favourites in Burgundy.
It’s a beautiful town dating back to Roman times, and although no vestiges of that era remain,  there are certainly plenty of ‘ancient’ buildings and monuments to take you back through the ages.  How many of the original 27 churches will you discover?

Auxerre is one of our favourites in Burgundy.
Medival timbers, ancient stone, 13th-century stained glass… and so much more!

Whether you fancy a lazy day relaxing by the river Yonne, or a fun-filled day, there is plenty to keep everyone entertained.
