There are three main waterways to be explored in the south: the Canal de Midi, the Etang du Thau and the Canal de Rhone au Sète.
The Etang du Thau is a large saltwater lake of crystal clear water. Wildlife abounds both in and out of the water: oysters, mussels, fish, flamingoe, white horses and black cattle.
Water sports are popular here.
The small Canal de Rhone au Sète makes effortless cruising of the Camargue between Beaucaire and Sète.
