Discover the beautiful Moselle river cruising aboard our newest vessel the Charlemagne, a very comfortable boat with all modern facilities including massage showers, double vanities and tropical strength air-conditioning.

The public areas are spacious and light due to the generous sized windows.

ITINERARY
Saturday
Frankfort - Koblenz
We meet in Frankfort and transfer to MS Charlemagne moored in the city of Koblenz for a welcome aboard reception.
Time to relax and settle in before dinner is served at 7.30pm.

Sunday
Koblenz - Zell
A morning cruise on the Moselle brings us to Cochem, the famous riverside town dominated by its medieval castle.
Later, during a wine tasting you will be able to familiarize yourself with the different wines of the region.
We return to Charlemagne and continue our cruise to the small wine village of Zell, known for its wine Zeller Katz.

Monday
Zell - Trier
The Moselle winds and turns and takes a route along the land which is entirely cultivated with vines extending as far as the eye can see,occasionally broken by small villages.
We make a stop at Bernkastel-Kues for a visit to this small town to see it's half timbered houses.
We continue with our cruise to Trier where we will overnight.

Tuesday
Trier - Mettlach
Afer breakfast, a tour of the city Treves begins our day. This city was the capital of the Occindental Roman Empire in the 3rd century, and was named Rome of the North.
Treves can qualify, along with Worms, as the oldest town in Germany.
It's remarkable collection of Roman ruins has been classified as a World heritage Site by UNESCO.
We return to Charlemagne in time for lunch to continue our cruise.
In Konz we leave the Moselle valley for the Sarre valley, which cuts a clear parth through the solid mountains of Hunsruck, causing the river to wind and twist which only embellishes this authentic route.
The passage of the loop of the Sarre is one of the highlights of the cruise.
We arrive into Mettlach in the evening, famous for the ceramics company Villeroy and Boch - A visit to their museum has been arranged.

Wednesday
Mettlach - Remich
This morning's excursion takes us to Cloef to admire the impressive panoramic view of the loop of the river Sarre, and then on to Saarburg, a picturesque town dominated by its imposing ruined classified castle.
The streets of the town are narrow and the half-timbered houses date from the middle ages.
The 60ft tall waterfall in the center of the town adds charm to this 'Little Venice'.
We rejoin the Charlemagne in Konz, and continue our cruise on the river Moselle mooring up in Remich.
This charming town is part of the Gran Duchy of Luxemburg: We will take an excursion this afternoon in the 1000 old town, the Gibraltar of the North.

Thursday
Remich- Metz
This morning we will visit the Roman mosaiques of Nenning ( an incredible 10 x 16 meters), discovered in 1852.
We return to the boat and cruise to Metz in France where the countryside changes dramatically as we leave the vineyards behind us, replaced by the vast Lorraine plaines.
This afternoon, a visit to Metz: Roman, Medieval, classic, Germanic with a 3000 year history.
Wonder at the 6496 square feet of glass windows in the cathedral of St Etienne and works of art dating from the 13th century until more recent times, including works by Marc Chagall.
Enjoy some free time before rejoining the Charlemagne for our farewell Gala Dinner.

Friday
Metz - Frankfort
After breakfast, the motor coach will drive you back to Frankfort, arriving there by lunch time.
