The country style of the Actief beautifully reflects the English countryside through which she cruises. Each cabin has it’s own character created by the careful choice of pastel shades and hand finished wall stencilling. Offering fully heated luxury accommodation in three suites, two twins and one single cabin each with ensuite bathrooms. ITINERARY
London to Shillingford
Sunday Guests are met at 2.00 pm in London and transferred to Actief at her private mooring. Traditional English cream tea awaits you. Evening Champagne reception followed by dinner aboard.
Shillingford to Pangbourne
Monday Morning cruise though glacier-formed hills. Afternoon tour of Oxford: see the Christchurch College founded by Henry VIII in1525, and the fascinating quadrangles of Oreil and All Souls colleges.
Pangbourne to Henley on Thames
Tuesday Today we make a private visit to excuisite Englefield House with its magnificent gardens. Afternoon cruise through “Wind in the Willow” countryside to Henley.
Henley on Thames to Hurley
Wednesday For any sportsmen or women, the visit to Henley’ rowing museum will be of great interest. Discover the secrets, mythology, history and traditions of the Thames. Afternoon visit to Brakespear’s real ale brewery dating from 1779. Pre- sunset cruise along Regatta mile to medieval Hurley.
Hurley to Cliveden
Thursday A gentle stroll through Hurley starts the day: see Englands oldest Inn and Peter Freebody’s traditional boat yard where boats are lovingly restored. Afternoon cruise through deep countryside leading to Clivedon Reach. Our private mooring is close to the former home of the Astors, lady Astor being the first female member of parliament.
Cliveden to Windsor
Friday Morning cruise to the foot of Windsor Castle, for a unique view of the Queen’s out- of -London home. Afternoon visit to Eton College dating from 1440, school to over 20 of Britain’s Prime Ministers. Time to browse the fabulous antique shops before the Captain’s Gala Dinner aboard.
Windsor to London
Saturday Disembark at 10.00 am to return to London hotel or airport.
